Inshore Fishing

Inshore Fishing

Inshore fishing refers to the backwater bays, creeks and waterway systems that we often call the Marsh. The areas in and around Wilmington, North Carolina have a lot to offer when it comes to inshore saltwater fishing and luckily for us it’s good all year long! From sight fishing shallow creek edges for belly crawling red drum, poling the flood tides for tailers, early morning topwater blowups to fishing deeper sloughs for speckled trout, flounder and sheepshead, there are plenty of opportunities to have a great time on the water.

You can expect to use light tackle on these fishing trips and if you are a fly fisherman, we have you covered there as well. The time of year can determine which species to target as some of these fish are migratory. Overall, the targeted species while inshore fishing include red drum, black drum, speckled trout, flounder, and sheepshead. Any trip can be tailored to meet the needs of the customer and what their goals are for catching their dream fish.
